The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies for the community.
SASSA will probably be rendering services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it is alarmed in regards to the significant number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often because of the lack of status sassa infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office devoted to service the area regularly. The assistance place made for intervention encounters a high inflow of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more assets to enable the servicing of all clients and increase access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
